We’re halfway through the 2025 European Le Mans Series (ELMS) — and things are shaping up nicely for IDEC Sport, ahead of the competition’s final three rounds.
Jamie and her team-mates Mathys Jaubert and Daniel Juncadella have already navigated 4 Hours of Barcelona, 4 Hours of Le Castellet and 4 Hours of Imola since the season kicked off in early April.
But there are still a trio of races to go before Jamie’s maiden endurance racing campaign reaches its conclusion, with visits to Spa, Silverstone and Portimão coming up over the next three months.
So how are IDEC Sport positioned in the LMP2 class standings, midway through the series?
Well, Jamie’s Car No.18 is firmly in title contention with 50 points on the board — putting them in second place, just a point behind leaders VDS Panis Racing.
That shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who witnessed the team’s blistering start to the season, as they claimed top spot in the LMP2 class at both Montmeló and the Circuit Paul Ricard.
The latter of those outings even resulted in an overall triumph for our IDEC Sport racer and her French and Spanish colleagues.
Unfortunately, their winning run didn’t continue at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari, when a collision with a barrier at Variante Alta scuppered the team’s chances of success — resulting in a P11 finish, despite being in P4 at the time of the incident.
That placing allowed VDS Panis Racing to climb marginally above Jamie’s car, after the French outfit’s run of second, sixth and first in Barcelona, Le Castellet and Imola, respectively.
There’s plenty of time for IDEC Sport to regain the lead, however, with such a small gap between the teams.
And they’ll be determined to do just that, starting with 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps at the tail end of next month (24th August).
The high-speed corners and dramatic elevation changes at the Belgian venue will be a test for all the Oreca 07 cars taking part in the LMP2 class — as will the similarly fast layout at Silverstone in the following round (14th September).
This year’s ELMS then concludes in Portimão (18th October), in what could be an incredibly tense title-decider.
There’s plenty still to enjoy, then, as we prepare for the second half of a captivating European Le Mans Series season.
