A P3 finish on the road at Portimão ensured a P3 championship finish for Jamie Chadwick and her No.18 IDEC Sport colleagues in the 2025 European Le Mans Series.
Having qualified P2 on Friday, Jamie took the wheel for the opening stint of the season finale in Portugal.
After initially dropping to P3, Jamie soon climbed her way back up to P2 with some clever racing whilst negotiating traffic.
Ollie Gray, racing for title rivals VDS Panis Racing, made a move stick to take P2 shortly before a full course yellow was shown.
Having negotiated several VSC spells, Jamie’s stint came to an end with just over 2.5 hours left to run, sitting in P2 once again before handing over to Dani Juncadella.
The Spanish racer would end his stint still in podium contention, before jumping out to give Mathys Jaubert the final hour of running.
After the final pit stop phase, the No.18 filtered out in P3, ensuring a fourth podium from the six rounds and P3 in the championship, just 16 points shy of the title.
Jamie and the No.18 IDEC Sport crew celebrate after a positive ELMS season
“We are competitors. We fight for victory in every race. In the heat of the moment, there is inevitably a little frustration,” IDEC Sport Team Principal Nicolas Minassian shared post-race.
"But now, looking back, we had set ourselves a target of finishing in the top five and we finished third. And that suits us fine.
“We obviously congratulate VDS Panis Racing on their victory on this difficult circuit and their title, as well as Inter Europol Competition on their second place. We tried everything we could to beat them today, but they were stronger and we have to accept that.
“We have always been competitive, systematically seeking to optimize everything we could. Every detail counts, especially in this particularly competitive championship.
“We are sincerely very proud of our drivers and the IDEC SPORT team. Everyone has remained united and positive throughout the season. We are one."
Congratulations to Jamie on a stellar rookie year of endurance racing, one that ends with three victories alongside Saturday’s P3 in Portimão.
