Jamie can look back on a successful first European Le Mans Series (ELMS) campaign, but has admitted that she had even greater aspirations heading into 4 Hours of Portimão.
Our Genesis Magma Racing driver and her team-mates Mathys Jaubert and Daniel Juncadella secured three LMP2 victories across 2025, while claiming two outright wins in Le Castellet and at Silverstone.
Those results set up a title decider in Portugal last month, where a P3 finish wasn’t quite enough to secure top spot.
Car No.18 did register a final position of third in the LMP2 standings, though, and Jamie is broadly pleased with the team’s overall placing — having had a few weeks to reflect on the season as a whole.
“On reflection, I think we can be very happy with finishing third in the European Le Mans Series, but equally, we obviously wanted more,” she revealed.
“To have three wins in our first year, we wouldn't have expected that at all. So then to suddenly be in contention for the title, you obviously always hope for the best.
“It wasn't to be in the last round [4 Hours of Portimão], but we gave it everything — and actually it was one of our best performances, I would say, in terms of speed and putting everything together.
“But, unfortunately, the other teams were faultless as well, so it wasn't to be. We finished third on the day and third overall, but I’m still incredibly proud of what we achieved over the year.
“In terms of what we set out to learn and achieve, it far exceeded our expectations, so I think we can be very proud of that.”
Jamie gave a hint as to what lies in store for her next year, too, following the conclusion of her first year in endurance racing.
“Looking to the future, I think it [ELMS] has set up some really good foundations”, she said.
“Obviously being a part of the Genesis Magma Racing Trajectory Program gives me a very clear goal for what I want to ultimately achieve as the next step — and I’m very pleased to be staying on that program for next year. “My plans are yet to be announced, but I've definitely got some exciting things to look forward to for next season — to keep me busy and to progress a little bit further as well. So that’s really exciting.”
The 27-year-old also reflected on last week’s Formula E Women’s Test, when she racked up the laps in Jaguar TCS Racing’s I‑TYPE 7 at Valencia’s Circuit Ricardo Tormo.
“The Formula E test was a lot of fun, quite a challenging test actually,” Jamie explained.
“I haven’t spent much time in single seaters this year, and those cars are incredibly physical and challenging.
“But it was still enjoyable to be back with the Jaguar team and I’m always learning a lot in that environment.
Finally, Jamie touched on her recent activities when not behind the wheel — getting behind the microphone instead, as a Formula 1 pundit for Sky Sports.
“[Lately] I’ve also been doing some more Formula 1 broadcasting work,” she said.
“The Mexico City GP was an amazing race, so I really enjoyed being over there for that one. It's got a lot of colour and it was a lot of fun — one of the most enjoyable races we go to.
“Now it’s straight into Brazil, as we head into the season’s closing stages and the Championship really heats up.
“I’m looking forward to it and I’m excited for what’s coming up in the future as well.”
