The first-ever Jamie Chadwick Series came to a conclusion on Saturday β and its impact on female participation in karting has been remarkable.
Jamieβs grassroots initiative has led to a 1900% increase in female competitive racing, as well as a 400% increase in casual participation.
And the impressive numbers donβt stop there. The competition has seen a 700% increase in endurance racing entries and a 200% uplift in girls trying out karting for the first time.
Notably, the series β launched in partnership with Daytona Motorsport β is now also the UK's biggest all-female karting initiative, reaching over 450 girls during its inaugural season.
Lily Jeffs and Rhianna Purcocks won their respective classes this year β and both drivers will receive a test in advanced karting machinery as a result, alongside personal mentorship from Jamie across the next twelve months.
More broadly, the competition has aimed to tackle several of the systemic issues that currently act as stumbling blocks to young girls participating in the sport.
Jamie has been delighted with the results, saying:
βItβs been a remarkable year for the Jamie Chadwick Series and the results have blown me away.
βItβs amazing to see so many girls and women try karting for the first time and also to see the level of racing in the competitive series.
βWe wanted to provide opportunity but also community and mentorship and itβs been incredible seeing all the girls come together in a supportive environment and watching them thrive.
βI wish Iβd had something like this when I started out. Weβve proved the demand is there and next year is going to be even bigger and better.β
